This contest is organized by Desjardins General Insurance Inc. (DGI). It runs from January 1 to December 31, 2009, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Prizes to be won: two credits of $750 towards Desjardins home or auto insurance (at the winner’s choice) with a term of at least 12 months, provided the policy is in effect and registered through AccèsD with Desjardins General Insurance Inc. on the date of the draws (December 31, 2009, at 11:59 p.m.).
No entry form is required. To be automatically eligible for the draws, DGI customers must have registered at least one auto or home insurance policy through AccèsD or on www.desjardinsgeneralinsurance.com with Desjardins General Insurance Inc. by 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2009. The policy must be in effect at the time of the draws. Entrants must be Quebec residents and be aged 18 or over at the time of the draws. There is a maximum of two (2) registered policies per person, one for each product (auto and home insurance).
No purchase required. Anyone who does not hold an insurance policy with Desjardins General Insurance Inc. and who wishes to enter this contest may do so. These individuals must submit a 50 word handwritten letter describing the advantages of managing their insurance via the Internet and enter the renewal dates of their home or auto insurance. They must mail the letter to: The “Online Client Services 2009” Contest — Desjardins General Insurance Inc., P.O. Box. 3500, Lévis, QC G6V 6P9. Maximum of two (2) entries per person.
Winners will be selected through two electronic draws on January 14, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. The draws will be held at the head office of Desjardins General Insurance Inc., 6300 boulevard de la Rive-Sud, Lévis. Each winner must meet all terms and conditions of these rules and must have been reached by telephone within 15 business days of the draws, failing which the organizers will conduct another draw. This draw will proceed in the same manner as stipulated above with the exception of the date, which cannot be the same.
The entrant is the person who registered the insurance contract(s) through AccèsD or who sent the entry letter.
Awarding of prizes
Desjardins General Insurance Inc. will award each winner a credit of $750 that may be immediately applied toward their home or automobile insurance policy, according to their choice. This amount will be used to pay their insurance premiums up to a maximum of $750, including taxes. If the total value of the premium is less than $750, winners may use the remaining amount to reduce their deductibles or increase their coverage, or wait to pay their premiums, in part or in full, in subsequent years. There is no time limit for winners to use the full prize amount.
In the event that a winner who chose auto insurance becomes ineligible for auto insurance or no longer has a vehicle to insure, DGI will transfer the remaining credit to the winner’s account for his or her Desjardins home insurance. If the winner has no home insurance with Desjardins, DGI will give the winner a home insurance quote. If the winner accepts it, DGI will transfer the remaining credit towards his or her home insurance. There is no time limit for winners to use the full prize amount. If the winner does not purchase a policy, he/she shall be deemed to have surrendered the prize.
Likewise, in the event that a winner who chose home insurance becomes ineligible for home insurance or no longer has a home to insure, DGI will transfer the remaining credit to the winner’s account for his or her Desjardins auto insurance. If the winner has no auto insurance with Desjardins, DGI will give the winner an auto insurance quote. If the winner accepts it, DGI will transfer the remaining credit towards his or her auto insurance. There is no time limit for winners to use the full prize amount. If the winner does not purchase a policy, he/she shall be deemed to have surrendered the prize.
If a winner does not have (or no longer has) property to insure at the time of the draws, Desjardins General Insurance will offer that winner a cheque for $250 in compensation.
If a winner owes money on one or more of his/her accounts, DGI will take the liberty of using the $750 amount to repay the amount(s) owed before applying the balance, if any, to the winner’s choice of home or auto insurance.
In the event that the insurance policy is cancelled by the insured or the insurer, the amount remaining in the insured’s account will be invalid.
Each winner must meet DGI’s policy requirements for auto or home insurance. If not, the prize will be null and void.
The odds of winning depend on the number of policies registered and the number of entry letters received. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable. To claim their prizes, winners must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question by phone.
Winners must agree to allow their names, places of residence, photographs, and voices to be used, without remuneration, for advertising purposes in connection with the contest.
