When to Call the Police
According to the Highway Safety Code, you must call the police to report an accident if:
- Total damages exceed $1,000
- Someone is injured
- A shrub, tree, pole, lamp post, sign, sod, or other property is damaged
- It is a case of hit-and-run, theft, or vandalism

If your vehicle has to be towed, you can choose any towing company. Simply make sure to check the cost of towing before allowing your vehicle to be moved.
